WayHub™ Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
DRAFT. The WayHub™ privacy policy is a draft and may change before launch. The final version will be posted on this page.
This policy explains what information WayHub collects, how we use it, who can see it, and the choices you have. WayHub is published by Flarecorp Media Group LLC (“Flarecorp”, “we”, “us”) of Lincoln, Nebraska, USA. It applies to the WayHub apps for iOS, iPadOS, and Android, and to the WayHub website at wayhub.travel.
The short version
- We collect what you need to plan a trip with your group: your account, the trip details you add, and the photos you share.
- Location is used only if you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time.
- Purchases are handled by the App Store, Google Play, or a payment processor. We never receive your full card number.
- What you add to a trip is visible to the people in that trip.
- We do not sell your personal information. We do not show ads, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
- You can delete your account and your data from within the app.
Information you give us
Account information. Your name, an email address or phone number, and a password if you create one, plus an optional profile photo. If you sign in with a service such as Apple or Google, we receive the name and email address that service shares with us. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we receive a private relay address instead.
Trip content. The trips you create or join, and what you add to them: plans and itineraries, booking details such as flight, lodging, and reservation information, notes, comments, and who is attending.
Forwarded booking emails. If you forward a booking confirmation email to WayHub, we process that email to pull out the booking details and add them to your trip. We use the email only for this purpose. We do not access your email inbox, and we read only the messages you send to us.
Photos and diary entries. Photos, captions, and diary entries you add to a trip’s shared photo diary. Photos can contain information stored by your camera, such as the date and the place a photo was taken.
Invitations. When you invite someone to a trip, we use the email address or phone number you enter to send the invitation. We do not upload your contacts list.
Purchases. If you buy a subscription or other purchase in WayHub, the payment is handled by the Apple App Store, Google Play, or, on the web, a payment processor. We receive information about the purchase, such as the product, price, date, transaction ID, and whether a subscription is active. We do not receive your full card number or other payment details. Refunds and billing for app store purchases are handled by Apple or Google.
Messages to us. If you contact support, we keep your message and our reply so we can help you.
Information collected automatically
Location. If you allow it, WayHub uses your device’s location to show you on the trip’s live map and to place trip plans on the map. Your location is shared only with members of the trips where you have chosen to share it.
- While using the app. If you allow location only while using WayHub, your location is used only while the app is open.
- In the background. If WayHub offers background location and you allow it, your location can keep updating for your trip while the app is closed, until you turn sharing off. Your device shows when an app is using your location in the background.
You can stop sharing at any time in the app or in your device settings. WayHub works without location access, but the live map will not show where you are. We do not use your location for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Device and diagnostic information. Basic technical details such as your device type, operating system version, app version, and crash reports. We use this to keep WayHub working and to fix problems. It is not used to build an advertising profile.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide WayHub and its features, such as shared plans, bookings, the live map, attendee lists, and the photo diary.
- Create and secure your account.
- Send you messages about your trips and your account, such as invitations, trip updates, and security notices. You can turn off optional notifications in the app.
- Process purchases and manage subscriptions.
- Respond to your support requests.
- Find and fix bugs, and keep WayHub safe and reliable.
- Meet our legal obligations.
We do not use your trip content or photos to sell ads, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
Who can see your information
WayHub is a shared app. Information you add to a trip can be seen by everyone in that trip. This includes your name and profile photo, your attendance, the plans, bookings, photos, and diary entries you add, and your location if you choose to share it. Trip organizers can invite and remove members. Please think about what you add before you share it with a group.
How we share information
We share information only in these cases:
- Service providers. Companies that help us run WayHub, such as cloud hosting and storage, maps, email and text message delivery, payment processing, and crash reporting. They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
- App stores. Apple and Google process purchases made through their stores under their own privacy policies.
- Legal reasons. When we believe in good faith that the law requires it, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of our users, the public, or Flarecorp.
- Business changes. If Flarecorp is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that deal. This policy will continue to apply to it.
- With your permission. In any other case, only when you ask us to.
How long we keep information
We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep it longer to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or prevent abuse. Copies in backups are removed when the backups expire. Records of purchases are kept as long as tax and accounting laws require.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel it in your Apple or Google account settings to stop future charges.
Content you added to a shared trip may stay visible to the trip’s other members after you leave the trip, unless you delete it first or delete your account.
Your choices and rights
- See and update your information in the app at any time.
- Delete individual items you added, or delete your whole account in the app’s account settings.
- Location and photos access can be turned off in your device settings.
- Notifications can be managed in the app and in your device settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have other rights, such as the right to request a copy of your information or to ask us to correct or delete it. To make a request, email us at the address below. We will not treat you differently for using your privacy rights.
Children
WayHub is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Family trips can include children, but accounts should be created and managed by adults. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Where information is stored
Flarecorp is based in the United States, and your information is stored and processed in the United States. If you use WayHub from another country, your information will be transferred to the United States.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as WayHub changes. We will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
